Shock & Awe
Easter Gorilla 2013

I'm still in shock and awe! On Easter, across the two campuses, when you add up all 6 worship gatherings, we had a total of 742 people gathered to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! Amazing! That number is nearly double our average Sunday attendance. Thank you to everyone who invited friends, put up yard signs, hung up door hangers, and prayed -That huge crowd showed up because of you. Thank you!

It took literally hundreds of volunteers to make Easter happen. Thank you to everyone who served on Easter and made all those guests feel welcome and comfortable. Easter wouldn't have been what it was without all of our amazing volunteers: nursery, kids classes, teens classes, registration, greeters, ushers, parking attendants, food, set-up, clean-up, music, tech, photographers... and the list goes on. Thank you!

God is doing so many amazing things in and through Good News Church -I am consistently in shock and awe. It's a huge honor that we get to be a part of this church that God is using to transform the north Denver area. And I count it a privilege to get to serve as your pastor. Thank you!

P.S. I know that some people were in shock and awe over the Easter Gorilla, but it turns out he was a huge hit and most everyone loved him. Be sure to check out all the crazy pictures of the Easter Gorilla and be sure to post them on your Facebook account and forward them to your friends and family.

Catch a Glimpse of the Dream
Possible Ministry Center - CC
The Commerce City campus of Good News Church is dreaming and praying about the possibility of a future ministry center. This new rented space would be used for mid-week outreaches and ministry needs - it would not replace the weekly use of Turnberry Elementary School for the Sunday gathering.

Everyone is invited to catch a glimpse of a possible location for this ministry center on Sunday, April 7 from noon to 1:30 pm. Please take a moment to drop-by and take a look, ask questions, and get a sample floorplan for the type of space we are considering.

Location: The North Forest Office Complex is located on the corner of E. 104th Ave. and Potomac St. in Commerce City.

          For more information contact
Ryan Whitson, Commerce City Campus Pastor at 303-469-4457 or R.Whitson@GoodNewsChurch.org.

Youth Ministry - Hands on Bible

Hello High school and Middle school students and Parents! Family Silhouette
A few weeks ago I had the privilege of hearing a bit about a family who came to Good News Church a year ago. They are getting involved and their lives are being impacted by the children's ministry. Here is a snippet of their story...

"My name is Stacy McCleskey and my husband Matt and our 3 girls have been attending Good News for a year now. Going to a new church was a bit scary for us, but the warmth and friendliness we felt, from so many people, helped us with that transition.

The Children's Ministry does an amazing job of teaching God's word and my girls look forward to their classes every week. My oldest daughter Emily and I, have been volunteering with the preschool/kindergarten aged children for about 6 months now and we love it. It has been great to be a part of the group of teachers and getting to know the kids and their families. I get so excited to see them connect with the bible stories through the lessons we provide and the activities we do together."

The McCleskey family is only one example of how the Children's Ministry can impact a family, connect them to Good News Church and ultimately to Jesus. Every Sunday Good News offers great stuff for kids starting from birth through 5th grade at both campuses. We couldn't do that without your generous faithful giving. Let me say "Thank You."

One way to make your giving easier is to set it up to process automatically through the church website.  It's so easy. You can do it online any time.

For more info about how your gifts are used or other giving alternatives, contact Lorie Schroeder at L.Schroeder@goodnewschurch.org  or 303-469-4457.

Ripple Art #2

It's April! Easter is over and spring has sprung. The new building is finished and renovations on the existing building are going so fast it's hard to keep up! Below is a snapshot of everything that happened in March.

*    Children began using the four new classrooms.

*    Most of the staff moved into the new offices.
*    Middle And High school students are using part of the new offices for a classroom on Sunday mornings.
*    Renovations began on the existing building
*    The old offices were torn out
*    The lobby was expanded
*    Folks began using the new lobby doors
*    The old copy/workroom room was torn out
*    Renovations began on the new nursery/toddler area
*    Renovations began on the new middle school/high school area
*    Renovations began on classroom five for the elementary age children.

The renovations are occurring so quickly that there is something new to see almost every day. It's dusty and noisy around the offices but there is so much excitement it makes the dust easy to accept. You can follow the progress for the entire project on Facebook.

God is moving at Good News Church through the Ripple Effect and we will see lives changed for eternity as the new building is filled with men, women, boys and girls who are seeking a relationship with Jesus. That's exciting! Thank you for your sacrificial giving to the Ripple Effect above and beyond your regular tithe. The dream of reaching out to people who need to find Jesus through the building expansion is becoming a reality because of you. If you're not involved with the Ripple Effect, you can start today with a onetime gift or setup a regular gift.

For more info about getting involved with the Ripple Effect financially or with your special talents, please feel free to contact Lorie Schroeder at L.Schroeder@GoodNewsChurch.org or 303-469-4457.

The Ripple Effect is a spiritual journey
that starts with you and is having far reaching effects throughout the community.
