“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
-From the Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
That line pretty much sums up my life. I left all my family and friends back in Pennsylvania to be an adventurer for a time. I lived in 6 different states for a month or more between December 1994, when I graduated from college with a Bachelor’s in Science Education, and Decemeber of 1997 when I finally settled in Colorado. It was here in Colorado that I met my husband Sean, recommitted my life to Christ, and have made a home. I wouldn’t change a thing about my journey, because whether it was a good decision or a bad decision, it has made me who I am today: A daughter of God who wants to reach the world with the good news of Christ.
I found Good News Community Church in August of 2016 and by October of that year, God confirmed it was the church He wanted both my husband and me to serve and learn at. I had no idea at the time His plans for me. In September of 2017 there was an announcement made for the position of Children’s Ministry Director, but I missed it the first time. It wasn’t until mid-October that God put it on my heart to apply. I never dreamed that this was a position I would be placed into, but God had an amazing plan.
As I look back over my life, I can see His footsteps and guiding in my life; preventing me from changing my major in Education to English in college, providing experience in outdoor education and eventually writing curriculum for startup programs, leading me to create my own business here in Colorado as a tutor, guiding me to a Christian school with an online Master’s degree program in special education, and finally directing my footsteps to starting and running a private school for kids with learning and emotional needs. All of those things have equipped me for this position as the Director of Children’s Ministry at the Broomfield campus.
I am so incredibly blessed to be able to work alongside of some amazing volunteers that teach, create, and help grow children into teens that know, love, and serve God. I can’t wait to meet you and your child. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to come alongside your family in your walk with Christ.
